British medical firm sees demand surge for home testing kits after Whitehall ended free lateral flow tests.
DAM Health one of the UK providers, who specialise in Covid-19 testing say they have been inundated with requests for lateral tests from people testing at home and from firms around the UK who are offering tests to employees.
It follows the end of free lateral flow tests in April and comes as a result of increased concern surrounding the new Omicron XE variant.
While on the high street Retailers like Tesco to begin competing over price of tests as supermarket and Boots reveal prices in April.
Tesco is selling lateral flow tests in 1,5oo of its high street stores. Much of which do not have pharmecies. With high street price war set to take place as Tesco offer's Lateral flow tests at the price of a coffee. At £2 a test.
As universal free testing ended in England on Thursday, the UK’s biggest retailer said the £2 individual tests, from healthcare firm Everything Genetic,
James Price, Everything Genetic’s chief executive, said he believed the partnership with Tesco would bring down the cost of tests and help consumers worried about the extra cost at a time when living costs are soaring.
